Our Corning Rotary provides the signs and cones to guide the marathoners for the 1/2 and full Wineglass marathoners from Painted Post to Corning. We have two setup sessions: Friday's sesson is in the afternoon; we put together the signs and cones for each of the setup teams to use on Sunday. Sunday's morning session is the placing of the cones and signs. Setup starts at 5:30 AM at the rental storage area in Riverside: https://w3w.co/jumps.muffins.deluge [after you click the link, click the round SAT icon in the lower right of the screen to see the complete image]. We will form three teams; each places the cones and signs for 1/3 of the route that we cover. Setup must be completed by 7:15AM. Sunday's afternoon session, [at 2:30]: we need three Rotarians to help remove the course markers. [this is a great choice if getting up at 5:30 a.m. isn't working for you ...]
9 - 12 Rotarians are needed to make this happen. Please be sure to sign up if you're coming. Knowing EXACTLY who be there on Sunday morning is very important in our route planning. Thank you!

Corning Community Invited to Help Rotary’s Global Effort to Eradicate PoliCorning and surrounding communities are invited to join Rotary in the fight to eradicate polio at a fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 9 at Thee Chatterbox in Corning. The event, sponsored by Corning Rotary, will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Tickets for “Purple Prizes” can be purchased for $5 each at the event, providing a chance to win a Purple Pumpkin, donated by Vitrix, and other purple prizes, including a Purple Penholder and Purple Paperweight and all sorts of other fun purple items from cozy throws and warm socks to pens and paper and more.
Winning tickets will be pulled at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to End Polio Now, Rotary’s global effort to eradicate polio, with all donations matched two-to-one by the Gates Foundation.
The local fundraiser gives members of the Corning community an opportunity to become part of this historic effort. Community members are invited to attend and make a donation to Rotary’s campaign to eradicate polio, while meeting and mingling and chattering away with Rotarians from the local area.
Drinks – alcoholic and non-alcoholic – are available for purchase at Thee Chatterbox. Rotarians will provide munchies during the event. The bar is cash only -- but they have an ATM available!
Oh, one more thing: wear purple and you’ll get two tickets for the price of one.
