It is Spelling Bee Time!March 11th is the Annual Regional Scripps Spelling Bee competition sponsored by the Rotary Club of Corning! This year we have 41 schools with 82 spellers participating including all the Corning Painted Post elementary schools, the middle school and three private schools.
The competition is being held at the Corning Painted Post Middle School from 7:30 AM to end approximately 2:00 PM. Volunteers are needed!!!!! Each speller is already a winner as they all have competed in their local school’s spelling bee. Coming to the regional bee is an exciting experience for them. Past winners of our Regional Spelling Bee have done well at the national competition in Washington DC. We actually had two of our regional winners go on to win the national competition! This is a fun event to volunteer for. Sign up now and put the date on your calendar. This will serve as our service event for the month of March.
