The Corning Rotary Club is the Lead Sponsor of a First Responders Park to be built on a proposed site on the Corning Community College campus.
The Park will honor and remember First Responders from the college's 3 county service area--Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties, New York.
The Park will feature beds of engraved pavers dedicated to First Responders--those persons who rush to save life, limb and property from harm. They include among others--firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians, fire police, security guards, rescue squads, life guards, ski patrollers, and those persons who back them up at their home bases--the dispatchers, ER medics, and emergency management and 9-1-1 personnel.
The Park design is by Fagan Engineers of Elmira and will be constructed in the summer of 2014 by the Steuben County Department of Public Works. Donations are being accepted from Major Sponsors ($2,500 level, Sponsors ($500 -- $1,000 level) and Individuals ($100 level) to cover the cost of materials. Donations will be recognized by appropriate sized engraved pavers.
Dedication is scheduled for Patriot Day, September 11, 2014.
