Corning Rotary is collecting used bicycles May 1-4 with the aim of helping refurbishing them and distributing them to people in need by assisting the Pittsford Rotary Club with their project. This initiative is a reflection of the Rotary's commitment to community service and improving the lives of people in the community.
Rotary recognizes that bicycles are not only a means of transportation but also a source of joy and independence. However, not everyone can afford to purchase a bike, and that's where this project comes in. The bikes collected by Corning Rotary and other Rotary Clubs will be refurbished by the Pittsford Rotary members and volunteers, ensuring that they are safe and in good working condition.
Once the bikes are refurbished, they will be donated to those in need. The project's focus is on helping children and adults who may not have access to bicycles, which can be an important part of their physical and mental development, and in some cases, transportation.
By collecting used bicycles, the Rotary is also promoting sustainable living and reducing waste. Instead of letting the bikes end up in landfills, the Rotary is giving them a new life and a new purpose. Additionally, the project creates opportunities for community members to get involved and contribute to a worthy cause.
If you have a used bicycle that you no longer need, consider donating it to the Corning Rotary.
Email CorningNYRotary@gmail.com and we'll arrange the donation: May 1-4, 2023. Thank you!! 🚲
