Announcements
May 2-4: District Conference in Corning May 4th. Pauline gave us the project details that the international students will complete on Saturday. Please watch -- it's a great work program.
May 15: Annual Meeting and School Budget Presentation. Please make every effort to attend, so that all can participate in this important meeting!
May 29th: Butterfly Project at CareFirst Campus; followed by a social hour. Here's the signup for the work party.
 
Wendy summed up the Rotary Foundation baby photo contest fund raiser -  winner Gretta Tomb! [11 correct], followed by Les [4 correct]. Gretta won the ECHO! See the names matched to the photos here.
Stacy summed up the successful Social at Academy Place on April 23. Lots of people attended: 20+ and 8 potential Rotarians too! The space at Academy worked out beautifully. Make sure you don't miss the next event.
Dale summed up the June 7th: International Event Dale ran a special deal of discount tickets - just for those that were present. The ticket discount was underwritten by an unnamed Rotarian. Let's get signed up and get the word out to your friends. Tickets available online, at meetings, and at Laura's Studio on Market St.
President Ernie told us about the Kate Danforth Garden workday last Saturday. They had quite a few volunteers from the club, other gardeners and Corning. The beds are off to a good start. Thank you to all that could attend!
 
Paul Harris nominations are due before June 1st.
 
June 29th -  District 7120 Changeover Dinner in Victor NY
Jan - announced that the Science and Discovery Center will be assembling the STEAM kits we purchased for them at Careys 11 am, Tuesday May 20. Plans have changed and this event will not occur.
Jen - brought thank you letters from the students that benefited from our donation to pay for their field trips. 
Pauline - announced the Severn School Fun Fair, May 16th. Three or four volunteers needed; signup is here. Setup is 5pm; the fair is 6-8 pm.
 
Good News  -  
Gail brought the news that her husband had a heart attack, but quickly was stented and is recovering at home. She also told us about the Spring Fling Dance: DJ, music, food, raffles -- all are invited to attend. And - daughter's birthday is coming up and, her 45th Anniversary on the 10th!
John Wahlig's grand-daughter is a Senate page; you may spot her on CSPAN.
Stacy - let us know that her youngest daughter is finishing college freshman year and is doing just fine. 😀
Gil -  shared that his daughter received an award at the United Way dinner at CMOG. Here's the event link:  Elmira City School District Superintendent Hillary Austin, received the James B. Flaws Lasting Legacy Award. News Coverage.
President Stu -  May 31st is the 50th anniversary of his marriage to Kate.
