Corning Rotary Sponsors Oratorical Speech Contest Second Place Winner Louis FerratellaThe Corning Rotary Club is proud to congratulate Louis Ferratella from the Corning-Painted Post Area High School on his second place finish in the District 7120 Rotary Oratorical Speech Contest on Ethics on 3-4-23.
The Oratorical Speech Contest was based on the Rotary Four-Way Test. Contestants presented a five to seven minute speech on how they plan to live their lives based on the four-way test. The Oratorical Contest helps build public speaking skills and confidence.
Lou was coached by retired communications teacher Judy Cross. For practice, Lou presented his speech at a lunch meeting of the Corning Club. Club members were impressed by his speech, being reminded of how the Four-Way Test influences the lives of Rotarians. Lou has also participated in last year’s RYLA experience.
