At the December 4th Rotary Club meeting, Kaley Hinman and Mark Mendez, members of the GorillaBots Team 5485, spoke about their latest project. To see the entire Rotary Club Meeting, click here.
A part of the FIRST Tech Challenge, the team had to meet various requirements including community outreach in order to compete in building a working robot. Each robot had to be designed to meet various performance challenges. Mark demonstrated what their robot could do.
Through competing at regional competitions, Team 5485 qualified for the World Championships held in Houston, Texas. Corning Rotary donated funds to help the team cover the travel expenses. A proud moment for the team – they came in first in their division.
