Next Club Meeting: April 14, 2022. Please note that there will not be a regular lunch-time meeting on April 7, 2022, in light of the Ukrainian Refugee Fundraiser that will be held that night. President Jeff Ugoretz called the meeting to order at 12:15 pm. He started by playing recordings of âMy Country âtis of Thee", the Pledge of allegiance; and the Rotary Four-Way Test. Cindy Long gave the invocation, asking members to count their blessings..

Announcements:- Ray Defendorf reported that he had met the previous night with Buddy Cutler to review preparations for the Ukrainian fund-raising dinner scheduled for April 7, 2022. They assured the members that preparations are in order, including posters, sign-up sheets, and payment arrangements, among other things. Ray suggested that those who intend to pay by check should make their checks payable to the Rotary Foundation (if they want to claim a tax deduction); and they can deliver their checks to Wendy Winnett or through Rotary Club Runner. Pre-orders have already been received for $620, and the Monday Bridge Club has made a gift to the fundraiser of $500.

- Ted Goldwyn provided the following recap for the Pints for Polio fundraiser held on March 31, 2022:
- Raised over $1,000 (although the total amount received had not yet been calculated)

- Jeff Ugoretz reported that the Board held a special meeting on Monday evening, March 28, 2022, at which the Board approved the Clubâs simplified grant proposal. The proceeds of the grant will be used to benefit Corningâs Meals on Wheels organization.Jim Webb: RYLA and Scholarship applications have been sent out to the High Schools. Deadline is April 8th. Scholarships are available; the form is on our website.Less Rosenbloom reminded us regarding the Paul Harris program. The PH committee is actively seeking candidates from club members. Here's the info and form. The deadline is May 31st.

Program: Jeff Ugoretz introduced Dr. Millicent Ruffin, the Director, Community Affairs, Office of Racial Equality and Social Unity of Corning Inc., to give a presentation on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Corning, Inc., and in the Corning area. Dr. Ruffin explained that DEI is a policy of Corning, and Corning is active in spreading DEI teaching to its employees and to students in those areas. This presentation was watched by those in attendance - it was not recorded for replay.
