We are currently meeting only by Zoom. There is no in-person meeting component for the immediate future. This is only temporary. Thanks to all who have made suggestions on new venues. President Jeff Ugoretz was back in the saddle this week, and called the meeting to order at 12:05 p.m. Jeff shared a video of the classic Louis Armstrong tune, "What a Wonderful World," then led us in recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance and the Rotary Four-Way Test. President Jeff also delivered the invocation, evoking Psalm 27 of the Hebrew Bible (aka, the Old Testament or the Torah), in a call for peace in light of the recent and ongoing tragic events in Ukraine. Guests: Stu Sammis introduced Turbo, the dog, who will be proposed for membership shortly. In related news, this writer has no update on Pete the Talking Dog's membership application, but word is it has generated significant controversy. Announcements: - President Jeff Ugoretz thanked everyone who attended last week's joint service club meeting with the Corning Kiwanis and Lions Clubs.
- Ernie Danforth announced that Spelling Bee is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 5th at the CPP Middle School. He is still looking for about a dozen volunteers for 1 1/2 or two-hour shifts as greeters, for registration and in the cafeteria. This year, we have opened volunteering opportunities up to the community, and Signups can be done through ClubRunner.
- Jennifer Batzing has been approved for membership. Her background is posted on the Clubrunner website.
- Gil Sweet announced that the 2021-22 Corning Civic Music season kicked off with the Mark and Maggie O'Connor duo on Saturday, February 26 at CMOG. Season tickets for the remaining three concerts will be available on the Corning Civic Music website.
- The District 7120 Conference has been announced, to be held the weekend of April 29 - May 1 in Oswego - the first district conference in three years! Visit the District Conference website to register and see all of the fun planned for this weekend.
 - Wendy Winnett shared that the Rotary District Training Assembly will be held at Honeoye Central School on April 9, 2022. Each Club can have up to 6 members attend for free. Contact Wendy for more details and carpooling info. We need a gift from the Club for the raffle.
- Wendy also shared that the Corning Y will hold its annual Maple Syrup Event the weekend of March 18-20 at Watson Woods (the former Watson Homestead) in Coopers Plains. Contact Brian Dana at brian.dana@rochesterymca.org or 607-962-0541 for more information.
- A busy Wendy announced a very special Rotary Pints for Polio Plus event will be held on March 30, from 5 - 8 pm. The fundraiser will include events at three local breweries. We will need volunteers to help out at each of the venues. Keep your eyes peeled for a signup sheet and ticket sales link - to be posted on Clubrunner soon!
- Save the date for the District 7120 Changeover Dinner, to be held in Canandaigua on June 30, 2022. Reservation information will be posted on the District website soon!
