Announcements:
  • President Jeff Ugoretz welcomed  everyone and began by thanking all who participated in the Cherry Blossom planting event on September 21 and 22. Mayor Bill Boland said the City crew was impressed by Rotary's showing.
  • DG meeting has been rescheduled to October 28 lunch meeting.
  • Committee registrations - update from Stu: Andy has a Clubrunner system that will be finished 10-9-21. He has a video overview of the system and will be working with committee chairs to help them update their members. But first, Andy has one more closing meeting with Dale and Stu - coverting a few standing committee types. Send Andy an email to be added as things get finalized.
  • Next Board meeting: Monday, October 4, 6pm on Zoom. Followed by an additional meeting, if needed, in 2 more weeks.
  • Stu: Sunday is Wineglass Marathon. Can use a few more volunteers for setup and pickup of signs on Sunday morning. John, Ernie, 5:30 am Sunday morning in CPPMS upper parking lot. Can use 2-3 more volunteers. Many hands make light work. Please let Stu know ahead of time. Rotary gets a nice donation for our service from WG each year.
  • This week we continued in-person meeting at the former Radisson.
    • Please order using the link provided on our Rotary Home Page ASAP, as the selections need to be made a week ahead of time; however, they are giving us some leeway this time.
    • The online ordering system [labelled PayPal] lets you use  your Visa/Mastercard.
    • Andy has included a lunch choice "if you want to attend but not order food". This helps the hotel have enough space for us!
    • Ask Andy if you have any issues with this and he will make sure you get the meal you want and you can pay next Thursday.  If you order through Andy,  please bring cash to pay for your meal.
    • Part of cost of lunch includes the use of the room.
    • Postcards were sent out out to members in an attempt to make sure all our members know about this process.
    • Please be patient with this new meeting process as well as the proposed attempt to do a hybrid meeting via Zoom.
    • Jan is requesting feedback in regards to next week’s meals so we can continue to improve the process.

  • EVENT RESCHEDULED to 10-28-21:  lunch meeting at the DoubleTree [formerly Radisson] with a Zoom visit from District Governor, Janet Tenreiro.
  •  The Wineglass Marathon is set to happen on the first Sunday of October on the 3rd.  Stu is looking for volunteers, especially as some of our former Rotarians are no longer with with Club.  If you are an early riser and want to do this special Community Service, which also brings back funds to our Club...please let Stu know! There are several days of short work parties - some early/ some in the afternoon. Sign up here!!
  • Note that on the 30th of this month, the new and updated By-Laws will be reviewed for the Club.  It is very important that you review these changes that will affect how the Club is run.  The vote to accept the By-Laws will take place on October the 14th.
  • If you haven't paid your dues - pay them! Or contact Ernie to make other arrangements.
  • Thank you to Andy Rochester for implementing the Radisson lunch meeting system - Radisson is thinking of employing it for all meetings!
  • John Brown reminded us that with 80 members, we are still a strong and active Club, and we have a lot to be proud of.
  • Next Club Meeting: TBD  ZoomThe DG visit is being rescheduled.
